What to Expect as a Repair Clinic Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with our Repair/Fixit Clinic! Here’s what you can expect when you join our team of dedicated fixers:

Time Commitment

  • We hold 2 events per month
  • Each event typically lasts 4 to 5 hours
  • Events are always on Saturdays, with occasional weekday events

Skills We Need

We welcome volunteers with a variety of repair skills, including but not limited to:

  • Any repair skills
  • General mechanical skills
  • Research
  • Sewing and textile mending
  • Soldering and electronics
  • Bicycle maintenance and repair
  • Appliance troubleshooting and fixing
  • Woodworking
  • Web Design/App Dev
  • Customer Service

Don’t see your skill listed? Don’t worry! If you’re handy and enjoy fixing things, we’d love to have you.

What You’ll Do

As a volunteer, you’ll:

  • Work directly with community members to diagnose issues
  • Guide attendees through the repair process, teaching as you go
  • Collaborate with other volunteers to tackle challenging repairs
  • Share your knowledge and passion for sustainability
